Well, two plus years later (the original airport pictures were taken in early January of 2009) those same babies were seen making their way through a Tokyo airport once again (and again with their parents and siblings in two). Only they definitely aren’t babies any more:

Time sure goes by fast, doesn’t it?!  Hard to believe that those six-month-old babies have now grown up into a big three-year-old boy and girl! It’s also hard to believe that, in the first airport photos, Shi was almost the same age that her little brother and sister are now (she was just four months away from celebrating her third birthday!). And what about that proud young man standing next to Knox and in front Brad? Maddox Jolie-Pitt certainly isn’t a little boy any longer! More pictures under the cut.

I have never been one to say that Knox or Viv look exactly like Shi. I’ve always thought that each of them has his or her own unique look. But this picture nearly had me question whether I was seeing double:

Uncanny how much they look alike, isn’t it?! It looks like two of the same kid,  right down to the smile!

Well, the answer seems to be not neccesarily! When asked about expanding the family, Angie said that it’s “not a possibility at this time”. So it sounds like Angie and Brad are still open to more kids, just not at this point in time. Angie also, of course, spoke at length about Kung Fu Panda 2, and said that Zahara and Shiloh in particular (she said “my girls”, but considering that she just said in another recent interview that she doesn’t know what exactly the twins think about KFP2 and that they are too young to “get it”, it’s a pretty safe bet that she was referring just to the two older girls.) really like her character Tigress, because she’s a “tough girl”.

Zee and Shi have Tigress dolls (and it sounds like they’ve had them for quite awhile, as Angie mentioned that the kids had Tigress dolls during the promo rounds of the first KFP. She also said that they called them “mom dolls” and that there was one big one that they kept putting diapers on!) among other KFP stuff. While the girls like Tigress, all four older Jolie-Pitt children like Po, and the oldest three relate to Po because he was adopted, just as they were. Angie said that the kids didn’t have any issues with the adoption aspect of the film, because adoption is something that’s talked about very openly in their home and words like “birth parents” and “orphanage” are “happy” words at their house.

Another thing Angie was asked is whether any of the kids are showing signs of wanting to be actors. She said no, and that she hopes they become writers or adventurers instead….but that she’ll probably end up with six actors! She also shared that she tries to tell them stories every night before bed. Angie may be one of the most famous and watched women in the world, but when it comes right down to it, she’s really not that different from a “regular” mom. AWWWWWWW!

The woman, of course, was none other than Angelina Jolie, and the baby none other than the little girl we know today as Zahara Marley Jolie-Pitt. It’s amazing to think of how far Zee’s come in these past six years. In honor of her birthday, I have created two vidoes. The first is a video of pictures of her over the years. The other is a video of pictures of her with Brad over the years. Enjoy!

However, there is one person out there who has very recently spoken out about Shi’s style…..and doesn’t see a single thing wrong with: Shiloh’s mother, Angelina Jolie. Lately, as we all know, Angie has been doing the press rounds to promote her latest film, Salt. Of course, one of the things that the interviewers have asked her about is Shiloh’s style. True to the “open-book style”, as I call it, that she exhibits during most interviews, Angie has not been at all shy about responding to those questions, and has explained her four-year-old daughter’s style by saying “It’s not my choice. I have a very strong willed 4-year-old girl who tells me what she wants to wear and I let her be who she is.”

As for Shiloh’s short hair, it turns out that, just like with the clothes she wears, getting her hair cut was her choice. “”Shiloh cried and said, ‘Please cut my hair off, I don’t want to have long hair,” Angie told interviewers. She then explained “I’m not going to leave it long because somebody thinks I should. I want to do what’s in her heart and what’s in her heart is to dress like that. I think it’s beautiful.”

Well, you know what I think is even more beautiful than the style choices Shi makes? That she has a mother who allows her to make those decisions, allows her to be herself, and isn’t about to force her to be someone she’s not. But what’s most beautiful of all is that Shiloh has a mother who thinks that the way she expresses herself is beautiful. Now excuse me while I go melt into a puddle!

Shiloh at a grocery store in France with her parents and big sister Zahara in late September 2009. Here again, you can see that Shi’s hair does not appear to be as light as it once was. This photo also shows some evidence that either Shi may have tried to cut her own hair, or one of her siblings did!

Shiloh out shopping with Angelina and Zahara in January 2010. Again, you can see that her hair appears to be darker than it once was. Also, this picture shows even clearer evidence that Shi or one of her siblings may have cut her hair (in otherwords, I’m thinking that Angie and Brad tried to see if her hair would even itself out on it’s own, but when it didn’t, took her to a salon to have it neatened up….hence her new hairdo!).

Shiloh’s new hairdo! If you really look at the photo, you can see that Shi’s hair is still blonde, but a darker shade. So, now that I’ve shared this “timeline” I think it’s time for a poll!

In July of 2006, Angelina Jolie adopted her second child, a 6 month old baby girl from Ethiopia, whom she named Zahara Marley. Zahara had quite the welcoming comittee: Her new big brother Maddox Chivian (then nearly 4), and Angelina’s new partner Brad Pitt accompanied Angelina to Ethiopia to pick her up. Only Angelina’s name was on the adoption papers, but it is evident now that Brad was Zee’s father from the very beginning.

Little Zahara definently did not have an easy start to life with her new family. She was very sickly when she was adopted and, shortly after arriving back in the U.S. with her new family, had to be rushed to a New York City hospital. There it was discovered that she was suffering from malnutrition, dehydration, and samonella poisoning. Happily, Zahara pulled through, and after a week in the hospital (with her mother by her side the whole time) was released. However, things could have easily turned out very differently for Zahara. The doctor that treated her said that, had Angie not adopted her, the baby girl almost certainly would have died in the orphanage. Zahara is a very luckly little girl indeed!

On May 27, 2006, Zahara became a big sister for the first time when Angelina gave birth to Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt. Shiloh, like Zahara, was born in Africa: Angelina gave birth to her via C-section at the Cottage Hospital in Swakopmund, Namibia. Zee, who was 16 going on 17 months old at the time, was initally a little jealouse of her new sister, according to their mother!

In March of 2007, Zahara welcomed a new big brother: Pax Thien Jolie-Pitt, then 3 years old, whom Angelina adopted from Vietnam (Brad later adopted him stateside). It soon became evident that the new siblings had bonded quickly: That summer, the paps snapped a picture of Zahara feeding her new big brother!

On July 12, 2008, Zahara welcomed new siblings for the third time, when Angelina gave birth to twins Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline at the Foundation Lenval hospital in Nice, France. Unlike when Shiloh was born, Zahara was smitten with her new siblings. She and Shiloh were “little mommies” to the twins, Angie said at the time.

It’s hard to believe that Zee is now a big girl of 5! What’s next for Miss Zahara? Well, Angelina and Brad have spoken about wanting to adopt again AND wanting to “balance the races” in their house, so perhaps she’ll get an African (maybe even Ethiopian) sister this year! Happy birthday, Zee!
