Yes, folks, you read that correctly! After nine years and six kids together, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have finally tied the knot! The big event happened on Saturday, August 23, 2014. Proving once again that they can keep things private when the really need/want to, the news didn’t break until five days later, when their rep released the following statement: “On Saturday, Aug. 23, in the presence of family and friends, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were married in a small chapel in Chateau Miraval in France. It was a non-denominational civil ceremony. It was very much a family affair.” The rep also stated that all six Jolie-Pitt kids took part in the wedding: Maddox and Pax walked Angie down the aisle, Zahara and Vivienne were flower girls, and Shiloh and Knox were ring bearers. Such big news as this has to be celebrated, of course, and what better way than a timeline of how the Jolie-Pitt family has grown and evolved?! See it below the cut!
As hard as it is to believe, Maddox Chivan Jolie-Pitt is now twelve years old! And in just over a decade, Angelina and Brad’s eldest has done something quite remarkable: he laid down the foundation for what would become the Jolie-Pitt family and has influenced several parts of it’s evolution. Let’s take a look, shall we?
Yes, folks, you read that correctly. After seven years and six kids together, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have decided to make it official! Brad’s manager, Cynthia Pett-Dante, confirmed the happy news this past Friday, April 13th…proving that Friday the 13th isn’t always an unlucky day! She said that “It’s a promise for the future” and that “No date has been set yet”. In honor of this most joyus news, I thought it would be fun to take a look back at the many things that led Angie and Brad to this point. The retrospective will kick off below the cut. Remember when we saw these two babies making their way through a Tokyo, Japan airport (with their parents and siblings in tow)?:
Well, two plus years later (the original airport pictures were taken in early January of 2009) those same babies were seen making their way through a Tokyo airport once again (and again with their parents and siblings in two). Only they definitely aren’t babies any more:
Time sure goes by fast, doesn’t it?! Hard to believe that those six-month-old babies have now grown up into a big three-year-old boy and girl! It’s also hard to believe that, in the first airport photos, Shi was almost the same age that her little brother and sister are now (she was just four months away from celebrating her third birthday!). And what about that proud young man standing next to Knox and in front Brad? Maddox Jolie-Pitt certainly isn’t a little boy any longer! More pictures under the cut.
It’s that time of year again! Time for the Cannes Film Festival, that is. And after taking a year off, Angie and Brad are both back at the festival in full-force! Angie is doing promotion for Kung Fu Panda 2 this week, and Brad will do promotion for Tree of Life next week. Angie has already done some interviews, and as always, she was asked about the kids. First things first, she was asked about that 7th coordinate tattoo that we’ve all been curious about. She confirmed that, as many of us had already suspected, it’s the coordinates of Brad’s birthplace, Shawnee Oklahoma. The other buring question we’ve all had about the tattoo, of course, is whether Brad’s coordinates on Angie’s arm mean they’re done having kids.
Well, the answer seems to be not neccesarily! When asked about expanding the family, Angie said that it’s “not a possibility at this time”. So it sounds like Angie and Brad are still open to more kids, just not at this point in time. Angie also, of course, spoke at length about Kung Fu Panda 2, and said that Zahara and Shiloh in particular (she said “my girls”, but considering that she just said in another recent interview that she doesn’t know what exactly the twins think about KFP2 and that they are too young to “get it”, it’s a pretty safe bet that she was referring just to the two older girls.) really like her character Tigress, because she’s a “tough girl”.
Zee and Shi have Tigress dolls (and it sounds like they’ve had them for quite awhile, as Angie mentioned that the kids had Tigress dolls during the promo rounds of the first KFP. She also said that they called them “mom dolls” and that there was one big one that they kept putting diapers on!) among other KFP stuff. While the girls like Tigress, all four older Jolie-Pitt children like Po, and the oldest three relate to Po because he was adopted, just as they were. Angie said that the kids didn’t have any issues with the adoption aspect of the film, because adoption is something that’s talked about very openly in their home and words like “birth parents” and “orphanage” are “happy” words at their house.
Another thing Angie was asked is whether any of the kids are showing signs of wanting to be actors. She said no, and that she hopes they become writers or adventurers instead….but that she’ll probably end up with six actors! She also shared that she tries to tell them stories every night before bed. Angie may be one of the most famous and watched women in the world, but when it comes right down to it, she’s really not that different from a “regular” mom. AWWWWWWW!
Six years ago, a baby girl was born in Ethiopia. Her mother died shortly after giving birth to her. So the girl was placed in an orphanage in Addis Ababa (Ethiopia’s capitol city) by her grandmother (who was too poor to raise her). She remained in the orphanage until she was six months old….by which point she had become very ill. Dehydrated, malnourished, and suffering from salmonella posioning, her situation was dire. And then a miracle happened: A very compassionate, kind-hearted woman adopted her, almost certainly saving her life by doing so (in fact, this compassionate, kind-hearted woman would later remark that in the cribs on either side of this baby’s at the oprhange were two other babies, suffering from the same things the baby girl that would become hers was. Both were dead within days of that baby girl’s adoption.).
The woman, of course, was none other than Angelina Jolie, and the baby none other than the little girl we know today as Zahara Marley Jolie-Pitt. It’s amazing to think of how far Zee’s come in these past six years. In honor of her birthday, I have created two vidoes. The first is a video of pictures of her over the years. The other is a video of pictures of her with Brad over the years. Enjoy!
Today is a very special day indeed. For it was on this day five years ago that a very special little girl was born: Zahara Marley Jolie-Pitt! In honor of the occasion, here is a look back on the life so far of this remarkable little girl! Click “more” to read it!
