The Rather Humerous Reason Vivienne Jolie-Pitt Got Cast in Maleficent

By now it’s pretty much common knowledge (at least among Jolie-Pitt fans) that Vivienne Jolie-Pitt will appear in her mother’s new film, Maleficent, as the child version of Princess Aurora. However, aside from her proud father Brad calling her a “natural” when it comes to acting, we didn’t know HOW she landed her first film role (other than the fact that her mother happens to be the star, of course!)…until now. This past Saturday, August 10th, Angelina appeared at Disney’s D23 Expo to discuss her latest project. And, lucky for us, one of the things she discussed was how her youngest daughter came to be little Aurora. Click “more” for what she said!

Lights, Camera, Vivienne!

Move over, Shiloh, there’s a new actress in the house! Five years ago, as most of us remember, the then ten-month-old had a cameo in her father Brad’s film, the Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Now her sister Vivienne is about to make her own silver-screen debut…in a minor role in her mother Angelina’s upcoming film, Maleficent. Per PEOPLE: “Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt‘s daughter, 4, landed her first Hollywood gig, Walt Disney Studios confirmed to PEOPLE on Wednesday in a statement. Jolie-Pitt will play the child version of Princess Aurora, opposite Jolie, in Maleficent, the live-action updated version of the classic fairy-tale Sleeping Beauty.”

This shouldn’t be all that surprising to Jolie-Pitt fans, as Angelina said just last year that her youngest daughter is into all things “pink and girly”, including princesses. Not only that, but Viv herself has made that quite clear via her wardrobe, often dressing in pink, frilly, or otherwise “girly” clothes. Given that fact, I thought it would be very fitting to celebrate Miss Jolie-Pitt’s big news by taking a look back at some of her cutest outfits. The “style show” will begin below the cut!

Angelina on Family Plan and More

Angelina once commented that she and Brad don’t worry about what’s said about them “Unless it’s in the New York Times“. Well, talk about ironic. Angie just recently gave an interview to that very newspaper! She addressed the issue of how fast they’ve expanded their family, explaining: “I know we seem crazy, just bringing them in one after the other, but we do plan, We make sure one is absorbed completely into the family before we add another.” Now that’s what I love about Angie! She knows what the media and the public think of her family, but she doesn’t let it bother her one little bit, nor does she try to be who or what the media and the general public want her to be. She’s who SHE wants to be, and she’s proud of it!

Angie also talked about Knox and Viv, calling them “lovely” and saying that “All I wished for was that they’d be healthy, because I was nervous since they were twins. They are, and they’re great.” Although this particular interview wasn’t taped, I urge you to watch the interview she gave to the Today Show. In it, you can tell that she isn’t just talking about the twins, she’s gushing about them! It’s obvious that she loves those two little cuties more than anything! I like the fact that she seems to be much more open talking about Knox and Viv than she was about talking about Shi when she was a newborn.

Angie also said that she can’t wait until her kids are old enough to see Mr. and Mrs. Smith, noting that “Not a lot of people get to see a movie where their parents fell in love.” A lot of people dislike that comment, but I actually think it’s sweet! Angie’s right, not many people DO get to see a movie where their parents fell in love! 🙂
