As any Jolie-Pitt fan worth their salt knows, yesterday (August 23rd, 2015) marked a very special occasion in the lives of our favorite family: Angelina and Brad’s first wedding anniversary. In honor of the occasion, I thought it would be fun to look back on some of the crazy wedding and marriage-related rumors the tabs churned out in the near-decade between when Angie and Brad first got together and when they made it official. Unlike most of my other retrospectives, this one won’t include pictures. Obviously, if it did, they’d be pictures of tabloid covers- and I’m not about to make you guys look that garbage! 😉 It will also be much more “casual” in tone, that is, I’ll be sharing my thoughts on the “stories” more than saying stuff along the lines of “This is what happened in 2008”. So, let’s get this party started!
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are Married!
Yes, folks, you read that correctly! After nine years and six kids together, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have finally tied the knot! The big event happened on Saturday, August 23, 2014. Proving once again that they can keep things private when the really need/want to, the news didn’t break until five days later, when their rep released the following statement: “On Saturday, Aug. 23, in the presence of family and friends, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were married in a small chapel in Chateau Miraval in France. It was a non-denominational civil ceremony. It was very much a family affair.” The rep also stated that all six Jolie-Pitt kids took part in the wedding: Maddox and Pax walked Angie down the aisle, Zahara and Vivienne were flower girls, and Shiloh and Knox were ring bearers. Such big news as this has to be celebrated, of course, and what better way than a timeline of how the Jolie-Pitt family has grown and evolved?! See it below the cut!
Angelina Jolie, “Maleficent” Mother
Today is a very special day for our favorite celebrity mother (and all mothers!)- Mother’s Day. Obviously I don’t know what the Jolie-Pitts did to celebrate, but I’m sure Brad and the kids made the day very special for Angie. As I have done in the past, I wanted to make a video in honor of the occasion. But I wasn’t sure how to do it without it feeling like a repeat of my other videos. Then I remembered that Angelina also has something else exciting going on this month. Her new movie, Maleficent is slated for release on the 30th. And, as we all know, she has a very special co-star- her youngest daughter, Vivienne (who plays the young Princess Aurora). Additionally, Angie recently confirmed what we all expected, that Vivienne is a major mama’s girl. Suddenly the answer to what kind of video I was going to was obvious. I hope you enjoy it!
The Rather Humerous Reason Vivienne Jolie-Pitt Got Cast in Maleficent
By now it’s pretty much common knowledge (at least among Jolie-Pitt fans) that Vivienne Jolie-Pitt will appear in her mother’s new film, Maleficent, as the child version of Princess Aurora. However, aside from her proud father Brad calling her a “natural” when it comes to acting, we didn’t know HOW she landed her first film role (other than the fact that her mother happens to be the star, of course!)…until now. This past Saturday, August 10th, Angelina appeared at Disney’s D23 Expo to discuss her latest project. And, lucky for us, one of the things she discussed was how her youngest daughter came to be little Aurora. Click “more” for what she said!
Happy Birthday Maddox Jolie-Pitt!
As hard as it is to believe, Maddox Chivan Jolie-Pitt is now twelve years old! And in just over a decade, Angelina and Brad’s eldest has done something quite remarkable: he laid down the foundation for what would become the Jolie-Pitt family and has influenced several parts of it’s evolution. Let’s take a look, shall we?
Jolie-Pitt Wedding Rumors: The Tabs need a Serious Reality Check!
As just about everyone and their brother knows, the tabs (and even some media websites) have, for the last several weeks, been consistently claiming that Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are going to tie the knot in September at Château Miraval, their sprawling French estate. There’s just one problem: there’s plenty of evidence (whether words that have come from Brad or Angelina’s own mouths, words from other, reputable, NAMED sources’ mouths, or just plain common sense!) that contradicts that. Of course, the tabs are ignoring all of it, making themselves looking even more ridiculious than usual. So let’s take a look at some of that evidence shall we?
Lights, Camera, Vivienne!
Move over, Shiloh, there’s a new actress in the house! Five years ago, as most of us remember, the then ten-month-old had a cameo in her father Brad’s film, the Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Now her sister Vivienne is about to make her own silver-screen debut…in a minor role in her mother Angelina’s upcoming film, Maleficent. Per PEOPLE: “Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt‘s daughter, 4, landed her first Hollywood gig, Walt Disney Studios confirmed to PEOPLE on Wednesday in a statement. Jolie-Pitt will play the child version of Princess Aurora, opposite Jolie, in Maleficent, the live-action updated version of the classic fairy-tale Sleeping Beauty.”
This shouldn’t be all that surprising to Jolie-Pitt fans, as Angelina said just last year that her youngest daughter is into all things “pink and girly”, including princesses. Not only that, but Viv herself has made that quite clear via her wardrobe, often dressing in pink, frilly, or otherwise “girly” clothes. Given that fact, I thought it would be very fitting to celebrate Miss Jolie-Pitt’s big news by taking a look back at some of her cutest outfits. The “style show” will begin below the cut!
Brad and Angelina are ENGAGED!!!!!!
Yes, folks, you read that correctly. After seven years and six kids together, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have decided to make it official! Brad’s manager, Cynthia Pett-Dante, confirmed the happy news this past Friday, April 13th…proving that Friday the 13th isn’t always an unlucky day! She said that “It’s a promise for the future” and that “No date has been set yet”. In honor of this most joyus news, I thought it would be fun to take a look back at the many things that led Angie and Brad to this point. The retrospective will kick off below the cut. How Time Flies!
Remember when we saw these two babies making their way through a Tokyo, Japan airport (with their parents and siblings in tow)?:
Well, two plus years later (the original airport pictures were taken in early January of 2009) those same babies were seen making their way through a Tokyo airport once again (and again with their parents and siblings in two). Only they definitely aren’t babies any more:
Time sure goes by fast, doesn’t it?! Hard to believe that those six-month-old babies have now grown up into a big three-year-old boy and girl! It’s also hard to believe that, in the first airport photos, Shi was almost the same age that her little brother and sister are now (she was just four months away from celebrating her third birthday!). And what about that proud young man standing next to Knox and in front Brad? Maddox Jolie-Pitt certainly isn’t a little boy any longer! More pictures under the cut.

Little Maddox Jolie-Pitt isn’t so little anymore. As hard as it believes, he turns 10 years old today. It’s amazing to think that we’ve been watching him grow up for a whole decade now. It’s also quite remarkable to look back on how the Jolie-Pitt family began. It began, of course, when Angelina Jolie opened up her heart to a seven-month old Cambodian baby boy and gave him the most precious gift of all…a forever home. Although the family has since expanded to include a father and five younger siblings, Angie clearly still has a very special bond with her eldest child. And it’s really no wonder, when you consider the fact that Maddox didn’t just make Angie a mother. He made her a better person and inspired her to turn her life around for the better.
